Bathroom trends are always changing. In 2017 we are set to see some fantastic trends surface, bringing modern bathrooms to the next level. Gone are the days of bathrooms that were used just for getting ready to go out or ready for bed. Now many homeowners are using their bathrooms to unwind and relax at the end of the day, the modern bathroom is now on par with your local day spa!

1. The Bigger The Tile The Better
Subway style tiles have had their time, now we are seeing large tiles and thin porcelain tiles becoming very popular. Large tiles not only look great but they are much easier to clean, with less grout needed you tiles will look fantastic for a longer time.
Large slabs of marble are also extremely popular. Not only is it long lasting but it looks amazing in any bathroom. These types of natural materials can also be backlit to show off the beautiful veining, which gives a fantastic dramatic effect.
2. Wallpaper is Back
That’s right, you read that correctly! Wallpaper is making a huge comeback in bathrooms and so on trend at the moment. With vast choices in colour and design, you will have no problem finding something that you love. The durability of wallpaper has come a long way, with many washable, vinyl-coated or full vinyl types available.
Wallpaper is an easy way to bring isn’t character into your bathroom without having to do much. Just make sure that you get it professionally applied!
3. Patterned Tiles
Patterned tiles are huge at the moment. They make a great statement when applied to a feature wall or on the floor. Moroccan inspired designs and modern geometric designs are the way to go and can be incorporated into any bathroom design.
Mismatched tiles are another way to add a really cool element while getting a really customised bathroom. Making use of monochrome hex, subway and square tiles will add serious visual impact!
4. Bring in the Greenery
A huge trend at the moment is the use of houseplants in bathrooms. The splash of green will add a cool contrast to your tiles and give a strong spa feel. Orchids, terrariums and plants under glass cloches are really big at the moment as well as clusters of mini succulents. Houseplants are a great way to accessorise any bathroom and can be easily changed if you ever decide you need something new.
5. Grey is Still In
Not just any grey, but blue, greys. This paired with monochrome black and white, charcoal and concrete tones with crisp white, and darker colours on the floor are very very popular. Natural stone in warm tones used on floors and walls are also perfect to pair with these colours.
